These steam powered vessels carried passengers across the Atlantic Ocean between Europe and America for nearly two centuries. During the height of transatlantic travel, these ships carried the wealthy, powerful, and famous to their destinations. Along with the elite, many immigrants traveled to their new homes aboard these ships.
